Bring your little ones along to the library and let them enjoy a magical time with stories, rhymes and songs. Meet other local parents and kids at these free sessions tailor made for babies, toddlers and preschool aged children. All sessions are free, and no bookings are required.

Baby Storytime (Birth to twelve months)

Length: 30 minutes
Bookings: Not required
Includes: Gentle songs, rhymes and simple books

Introduce your baby to language and rhythm through soothing songs, movement and shared reading. Baby Time supports early brain development, builds concentration, and helps you bond with your child in a calm, nurturing space.

Toddler Storytime (One to three years)

Length: 30 minutes
Bookings: Not required
Includes: Singing, dancing, rhymes and interactive stories

Designed for active toddlers, these fun sessions help children grow language skills, develop coordination, and build social confidence. Parents, Grandparents and Caregivers are encouraged to sing, move and play along.

Preschool Storytime (Four to five years)

Length: 45 minutes

Includes: Stories, songs, rhymes and a craft activity

Perfect for children preparing to start school, Preschool Storytime builds early literacy, imagination and concentration through longer stories and hands‑on craft activities that support creativity and fine motor skills.

Greek Storytime (Birth to five years)

Length: 30 minutes

Includes: Songs, rhymes and stories in Greek

Celebrate Greek language, culture and traditions through stories, song and play. These joyful sessions help children explore Greek heritage in an engaging, age‑appropriate way while bringing families together.

Mornington Library: Thursdays 10am during the school term.

Sensory Storytime (Three to six years)

Length: 30 minutes
Bookings: Essential (limited places)
Includes: Stories, songs and weekly sensory play

Created for children who prefer a more relaxed, sensory‑friendly environment, these sessions incorporate tactile activities such as playdough, paint and themed sensory tubs. Sensory Storytime supports literacy, self‑expression and social play at each child’s own pace.

If weekdays are busy, join us on Saturday mornings for a relaxed family‑friendly session. Weekend Storytime is a great way to enjoy quality time together while building language and early literacy skills.

Online Storytime

Storytime anytime!

Alongside our in-person Storytime sessions, we also offer online Storytimes available 24/7 on all digital devices. Perfect for busy families or for bedtime reading. These digital resources feature engaging stories from Story Box Library and LOTE4Kids where children's stories are read aloud by Australia's favourite storytellers, brought to life with animations or are told in over 65+ languages including Auslan, ASL, BSL and NZSL.
