Join us for a special hands‑on session in partnership with Mornington Peninsula Shire Community Animal Shelter.

During this fun and interactive session, participants will:

  • Read to friendly shelter cats – help socialise cats while practising reading skills in a calm environment.
  • Take a behind‑the‑scenes tour of the animal shelter – discover how the shelter cares for its animals and how we can all support responsible pet ownership.
  • Make your own DIY cat toy – create an enrichment toy that will be donated to a shelter cat or taken home for a pet of your own.

Ages 6-12.

Free, bookings essential.

Program Safety Notice: Participants will be interacting with a variety of domestic animals during this program. To ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone, we ask that all instructions from Library and Community Animal Shelter staff are followed carefully. Please be aware that animals will be present throughout the session; if you have allergies to cats, dogs, or other domestic animals, this program may not be suitable for you.
