Discover OLiV – Our Library Van: Bringing books, programs, and community connection closer to you.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Library is taking services beyond our branches and into the heart of the community. OLiV (Our Library Van) is a pop-up library service designed to make accessing books, programs, and resources easier for everyone.

Visit an OLiV stop to:

  • Browse and borrow from a curated collection.
  • Return and collect reservations closer to home, school, or work.
  • Enjoy free programs and activities for all ages.
  • Connect with others in welcoming indoor spaces.

Launched last year, OLiV quickly became a popular way to access books, free Wi-Fi, and digital resources. It’s perfect for anyone who finds it hard to get to a library branch or wants to access library services closer to home.

What’s new in 2026?

OLiV now offers free activities at indoor community venues. From Family Storytime to STEM workshops and Basic Tech Help, there’s something for everyone. These indoor pop-ups make learning and connection easier, no matter the weather*

Whilst the van stays outside, all library services are delivered indoors at local venues like Community Centres and Town Halls.

Not sure where to find us? Just follow the flags and directional signs outside each venue. They’ll guide you inside to our friendly OLiV team and a great range of books and resources including:

  • Fiction
  • Non Fiction
  • Large Print Books
  • Talking Books
  • Children’s Books

Make borrowing even easier by selecting Library Van (MPLS) as your pick up location when placing reservations online. Your items will be available at any of our OLiV stops for the following 14 days once items are ready for collection.
