All branches, including the OLiV (Our Library Van) service will be closed Wednesday 26 November for staff professional development. Return chutes will be closed with any items due for return automatically extended for 24 hours.

Mornington Library Service Announcement:

From Monday 24 November to Friday 28 November, the main entrance for Mornington Library will be closed for essential maintenance. Please access the library via Mornington Shire Offices on Queen Street. Return chutes will be unavailable, however you are welcome to return library items inside. No late fees apply.

Robotics and Coding Workshop - Hastings Library

Looking to discover the power of robots? Join Museums Victoria for a fun, hands-on, one hour and 15 minute workshop where you can explore how simple programs can control complex machines.

In this introductory workshop, discover how robots move, sense and respond to their environment using mBot robots and iPads. Working in pairs with a parent/carer, children will write instructions for their robot using block-based programming language, and use STEM skills such as problem solving, creativity and innovation to overcome a series of challenges.

Can you program a self-driving car? Or dancing party robot? Or a sneaky snooping robot?

This workshop is the perfect way to step into the exciting world of robotics and coding, and explore future STEM careers.

Ages 8-13.
