Christmas Closure

Mornington Peninsula Shire Library will be closed from 12pm Wednesday 24 December 2025 until 9am Friday 2 January 2026 (10am Somerville) Return chutes will be closed and all library items due for return will be automatically extended until 5 January 2026.

OLiV (Our Library Van) service will return on Monday 2 February 2026 with an updated timetable and new offerings.

Join us for a fun NGV Kids on Tour drop in art activity where children are invited to have a conversation with an adult about how phones and everyday life have changed over the years.

Learn about a suede purse from the NGV Collection that is shaped like a classic 1960s telephone. Back then, telephones were big, heavy, and connected to the wall – they weren’t something you could carry around!

For this activity, children are invited to have a conversation with an adult about how phones and everyday life have changed over the years. Together, they can share stories, compare the past and present, and draw pictures that show what they’ve learned from their conversation.

This activity encourages meaningful dialogue, strengthens family connections, and helps children develop communication, listening and creative skills.
