Join us for a presentation on the history of French Island, its industries, flora and fauna, its road to becoming a National Park and Christine’s journey in writing the book, French Island A Visitor’s Guide – an island in Isolation.

The talk is supported throughout by visuals, photographs of the island and interesting anecdotes.

The first edition of this guide was published in 1993 and the second edition in 2016.

Although Christine was the writer of these books, the wisdom and insights it contains were provided by French Islanders and various experts in the flora, fauna and the history of this unique island in Western Port, as well as the support provided by French Island rangers.

This book is intended as a pocket guide for people who plan to visit the island or would like to gain an insight into what it has to offer and why French Island is such an amazing natural asset that needs to be preserved for future generations.

Free, bookings essential.
